"To bow to the fact of our life’s sorrows and betrayals is to accept them; and from this deep gesture we discover that all life is workable. As we learn to bow, we discover that the heart holds more freedom and compassion than we could imagine."

SERVICES
Trauma Treatment Retreats, IFS, EMDR
Therapy intensives are long session multi-day treatment events. During an Intensive, you will be the therapist’s only client each day. During an Intensive, you will be the therapist’s only client each day. Rather than dealing with things on a weekly basis for months or possibly years, you can often work through many issues intensively and efficiently to get the healing and relief you are looking for.

Standard therapy typically follows the managed care or insurance model for treatment and can be a barrier to progress. Insurance companies dictate to therapists how long each session can be, how often clients and therapists can meet, and how many sessions are allowed in the course of a year. So, most therapists practice by seeing their clients for about 50 minutes each week. Within the 50 minutes, the client is expected to get settled in enough to focus on whatever they are in therapy about rather than the goings-on of the past week. They will briefly check in about the interval since the last session and share pleasantries with the therapist. They may also ask about billing-related issues. By that time, the clock has ticked away. The therapist needs to check in about how the work accomplished in the last session settled with the client which informs the starting point for therapy within the present session. This leaves about 20 minutes for intervention as the remaining 10 minutes of session are allotted to closure procedures and planning for the next session.

It is easy to see that the insurance model limits the amount of progress a client can make week to week. Intensives get around that model by allowing a long chunk of time to complete work on a large amount of material in mere hours or days. Rather than months.

You're in the right place for healing
What to Expect
4-5 day therapy intensive
During our 3-5 day therapy intensives, you'll work closely with Emily in a safe and supportive environment in the Sierra Nevada foothills location of Auburn California. Each day is carefully structured to maximize your progress and address your specific needs.

We begin with a 20-minute consultation call to determine if the trauma therapy retreat model aligns with your needs and if our program is the right fit for you.
If the services are a good fit, you'll complete a comprehensive intake packet to share your background, current challenges, and goals. This helps us tailor the retreat to your specific needs. Each day of your intensive therapy retreat we will meet for 6-hours with breaks for lunch and as needed throughout the day. These sessions are designed to delve deeply into healing trauma, PTSD, and life stressors. All sessions are conducted in-person at my serene retreat location in Auburn California.
At the end of your retreat, we'll have a post-intensive session to measure your progress, debrief, and ensure you feel equipped to integrate your new insights into daily life. This session helps solidify the progress made during the retreat and provides a roadmap for continued healing.

Is a therapy intensive Right for You?
Pricing and FAQ
Traditional weekly therapy sessions cost over $210 per hour and can extend over several years. While beneficial, the slow and steady approach may take a considerable amount of time to achieve deep healing. Trauma therapy retreats offer an intensive and immersive healing experience, providing 6 hours of therapy each day for 4-5 days, priced just $333.33 hourly or $2000 a day for deep intensive work. This focused and concentrated approach is designed to help clients make significant progress in a shorter time frame, often achieving breakthroughs that might take years in regular weekly therapy.
