IFS, EMDR, Individual Trauma Treatment Retreats
Welcome

"To bow to the fact of our life’s sorrows and betrayals is to accept them; and from this deep gesture we discover that all life is workable. As we learn to bow, we discover that the heart holds more freedom and compassion than we could imagine."
Jack Kornfield
About
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I'm dedicated to guiding you towards profound change and healing. Specializing in PTSD and addiction, I've been offering therapy and counseling services for more than two decades. I completed my master’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and have completed training with Jack Kornfield, PhD (mindfulness, meditation), Richard Schwartz, PhD (IFS, parts work), Francine Shapiro, PhD (EMDR), and Marsha Linehan, PhD (DBT, acceptance, mindfulness).

Through our work together, we will find practical solutions to your challenges by leveraging your intrinsic strengths. Utilizing my knowledge in mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and EMDR, we will concentrate on your inner resources while understanding the complex dynamics between you and your surroundings.

Finding the right kind of therapy can seem overwhelming with so many options available, but my goal is to work with you to assess your needs and identify the option that feels like the best fit. I offer two different models of therapy, which can be utilized independently or in combination, depending on your needs.

The conventional therapy model typically consists of one 50-minute session each week. This format creates an opportunity for regular check-ins to evaluate how your thoughts, feelings, and emotions manifest in your daily life and to explore deeper connections to your past and its influence on your present. This approach is commonly recognized as an effective method for treatment and healing, and together, we will determine if it suits your needs.

Therapy intensives are extended, multi-day treatment sessions. Throughout an Intensive, you will be my sole client each day. Instead of addressing issues weekly over months or even years, you can often tackle many challenges intensively and efficiently, leading to the healing and relief you seek. This approach alone provides a direct way to uncover a specific issue or event and can help us address deeper problems in a more targeted manner.

All trauma therapy retreats are provided at my office in Sacramento California. For thousands of years, this land has been the home of the Nisenan and Maidu people. Today, they identify with the federally recognized tribes: Nevada City Rancheria and Enterprise Rancheria. The Nisenan and Maidu people have remained committed to the stewardship of this land over many centuries. It has been cherished and protected, as elders have instructed the young through generations. We are honored and grateful to be here today on their traditional lands.
